Welcome to our blog about this website, wine drinking, storage, and tasting. We're currently focused on Pacific Northwest Wines, because that's where I live, but any guest authors are welcome!
Jarrod OlsonI don't know about you - but I love wine and cheese. The folks over at wine folly have a great guide to pairing wine and cheese that you should checkout! - Wine Folly - Wine and Cheese Pairing.
Jarrod OlsonThis app keeps moving along. We just added a simple user profile. It's the first step in creating our prestige system. If you visit your profile (just click "Manage" > "Account") you will see summary information about your utilization of the website. This is all private to only you. You can see your total utilization of the website, and also add some basic geographic information that will help us to deliver a higher-quality experience (taking advantage of time zones, default locations, etc.). As always, if you have any difficulties just email me at jarrod AT winedb.com. Hope you're enjoying some wine! Jarrod
I don't know about you, but I can never keep track of which wines I need to pick up at my wine clubs. Occasionally, I'll miss an event and forget until the next one. Sometimes, the released wines are no longer available, and that's a bummer.
Worry no longer, whenever you get notification of a new release, just add a note in this application under "Manage>Wine Clubs". When you are past due, it will remind you. When you pick up your wine, just mark it complete. Easy as pie.
As always, if you have any troubles with it, please let me know! - Jarrod
Hi all - We got a new look and feel using Bootstrap 3.0. For you non-nerds, that means we have a better, more integrated experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile viewing.
As always, please let me know if you have any troubles!
We've added new features to this database, including a "Summary" view that will give you a quick set of visualizations regarding your remaining wine catalog, including views by drink date, vintage, winery, and grape type. Additionally, we added this blog to make it easier to communicate changes, plans and upcoming activities.
In the next couple of weeks, we'll be rolling out new features to help motivate use of the software. As the database grows, we will be able to better leverage the work of others to get data and make recommendations for users. The wine-db game will focus on rewarding participants for their contributions. Please sign up today! They will coincide with changes in user accounts to make this application more social in nature... because who likes to drink alone!? Best, Jarrod
